Hon. Justice Olasehinde Kumuyi was born at Ogbagi Akoko on 21st January 1952 to late Olaleye Kumuyi and Late Mrs. Mary Ogunto Kumuyi.
Hon. Justice Olasehinde Kumuyi attended St. Philips Anglican Primary School Araromi-Ago Owu, st. Stephen Anglican Primary School, Inalende and St. Paul Primary School, Yemetu all in Ibadan. He later schooled at Oyemekun grammar School, Akure and the University of Ile-Ife (now Obafemi Awolowo University) where he was awarded an Honours degree in Law in 1977. He was at the Nigerian Law School, Lagos where he was called to the Bar in 1978. He also attended a course in Advanced Civil Procedure by the Crown Agent Institute, Worthing, Surrey in the United Kingdom in 1995.
Hon. JusticeOlasehinde Kumuyi worked in various places which include Nigerian Police Force, the Western State Central Schools Board as a teacher in St. Patrick College, Oka up to 1974 when he was admitted to the University to read Law. Upon qualifying as a Lawyer, he worked in some Private Chambers until January 1981 when he was employed by the then Ondo State Agricultural Credit Corporation, Ado-Ekiti as a Senior Legal Officer. He left the Corporation in March 1983 to establish his own Legal Practice Sehinde Kumuyi & Co at Ikre-Akoko and later Akure.
He joined the Federal Ministry of Justice in August 1991 as an Assistant Director and was the Prosecutor to the Miscellaneous Offences Tribunal.
He was responsible for the prosecution of notable national cases including that of the sensational wonder banker- Umana Umana at the Federal High Court, Port-Harcourt.
He was posted to the Federal Ministry of Internal affairs in 1992 as the Legal Adviser to the Hon. Minister of Internal Affairs in 1992 as the Legal Adviser to the Hon. Minister of Internal Affairs. He was also a member of the Custom, Immigration, and Prisons Service Board and served as Legal Adviser from 1992 to 1998 when he was posted as a judge of the Ondo State Judiciary in July 2002.
As a Judge of the Ondo state High Court, he worked in Owo, Okitipupa, and Ondo Divisions, before he was appointed as the State Chief Judge on 28th October 2010 and retired on 21st January 2017. He is presently the Chairman/CEO Joel Educational Agency Ltd and Chief Consultant of Kumuyi & Kumuyi Legal Practitioners/Consultants.
Hon. Justice Olasehinde Kumuyi is a Chairman of Anglican denomination. He was the Chairman Planning Committee for the establishment of Gwagwalada Diocese and the first Chancellor of the diocese.
He is happily married to Chief (Mrs) Ibilade Kumuyi and the marriage is blessed with five children.
